A devastating shooting incident occurred on Thursday evening in Hazyview, Mpumalanga, claiming the life of 35-year-old Ntombi Mnisi. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while a male passenger was left wounded.

According to Colonel Donald Mdhluli, two suspects emerged from a silver Toyota Etios with Gauteng registration plates and opened fire on the vehicle, striking the female driver and male passenger. The motive behind the attack remains unknown and is currently under investigation.

Preliminary findings suggest that the suspect vehicle may have been reported stolen or hijacked on May 21 in Bosbokrand. Cartridge casings from both a rifle and pistol were discovered at the scene.

This tragic incident bears a striking resemblance to a previous shooting that occurred on March 26, in which Ntombi's brother, Clyde Mnisi, was fatally shot near the KMI airport in White River. His widow, Charlene, was also tragically shot and killed in her sleep just days after laying her husband to rest.

The police are urging anyone with information regarding this crime to come forward and assist in their investigation.

May Ntombi Mnisi's soul rest in peace, and may her family find strength and justice in the days ahead.
