A man, Mxolisi Zungu, a member of the uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MK), was reportedly shot dead in Durban's Cato Manor area. The alleged perpetrator, who is believed to be Zungu, shot him with his own firearm after dropping off his child. MK party members congregated at the man's house in mourning and to show support to the family.
The party's head of security for KZN, Sizwe Zungu, expressed concern about the loss of such a high-caliber member and urged members to wait for the authorities. The police stated that the motive for the murder was robbery and not politically motivated. The community is also becoming increasingly concerned about these types of crimes, which are becoming a pattern in the area.
